Sourcing OEM Baby Strollers from China: MOQ, Samples, Lead Time and Payment Terms

Short answer: at BabyGearWorks an OEM stroller order starts from 300 pieces per model, and stroller accessories start from 500 pieces per colour or print. Most samples are ready in 7–10 days, production runs about 60 days from order confirmation, prices are quoted EXW or FOB, and payment is by T/T (bank transfer) or letter of credit (L/C). The rest of this note explains what moves each of those numbers, so you can plan a first order before you ask for a quote.

The numbers at a glance

  • MOQ for strollers and infant carriers: from 300 pieces per model
  • MOQ for accessories such as footmuffs, seat liners and rain covers: from 500 pieces per colour or print
  • Samples: most are ready in 7–10 days; a new structure that needs tooling takes about 3–4 weeks
  • Production: about 60 days from order confirmation
  • Pre-shipment inspection: AQL 2.5 / 4.0, about 3 days
  • Trade terms: EXW or FOB
  • Payment: T/T (bank transfer) or letter of credit (L/C)
  • Port of loading: arranged according to the destination country
  • Prices: quoted per order, not published

What the MOQ means in practice

The stroller minimum is counted per model, not per order. If you take two stroller models, plan for at least 300 pieces of each. The same 300-piece minimum applies to the infant carrier supplied with the 3-in-1 travel system.

For accessories the minimum is counted per colour or print, because each colourway is a separate fabric run. A footmuff ordered in three prints means at least 1,500 pieces in total.

A model built on new tooling is quoted with its own minimum. The moulds and the structure change the economics, so that number comes with the quotation rather than from a fixed table.

Three ways to customise, and what each one changes

  • A stock model with your branding: fabric and frame colours to your Pantone reference, your logo as a silkscreen, woven label, embossed leather tag or moulded logo plate, and your packaging, from carton artwork and inner protection to the manual and retail or FBA labels. No tooling, and the fastest route to a first order.
  • A modified model: an existing chassis with your canopy, fabric or a structural change such as a new canopy shape, handle, wheel size or fold mechanism. Structural changes need tooling, which is quoted openly as its own line.
  • Full ODM: a product engineered from zero. The tooling is named as yours in the contract.

Colour, branding, packaging and accessories are each quoted as a separate line, so you can see what every change adds to the unit price.

Samples: 7–10 days for most, longer for a new structure

Most samples are ready in 7–10 days. The exact time and the sample fee depend on the product and on how much is customised, and both are confirmed with the quotation.

A new structure takes longer, about 3–4 weeks, because its sample goes through our own laboratory first: rolling road, brake hold and harness pull. Failing a product in-house costs a sample; failing it at an accredited lab costs the test fee and the schedule.

The approved sample is the reference for the order. Prints and colours on the sample confirm the final specification, so check the sample, not only the photographs.

Lead time: from enquiry to a sealed container

  • Brief and NDA: about 2 days. An NDA is signed before sampling.
  • Product selection and DFM: 2–3 weeks, only for a new or modified structure
  • Sampling: 7–10 days for most samples, about 3–4 weeks for a new structure
  • Testing at an accredited lab: 2–3 weeks, when your market needs a new report
  • Production: about 60 days
  • Inspection: about 3 days, AQL 2.5 / 4.0, with a pre-shipment report
  • Export documents and loading: about 5 days

For a stock model in your colours, the design, tooling and testing steps fall away, and the plan is about 60 days of production plus inspection and documents. During production you get a photo update every week.

Standards: decide the market before the model

The destination market decides which test a stroller needs. Europe and the United States do not accept each other's reports, so a model sold on both sides of the Atlantic is tested twice.

For most strollers in current production, the factory specification states EN 1888-2. Some models carry it only on request or only in an upgraded version, and each product page says which. We do not hold ASTM F833, CPSIA or ECE R129 certification for these models, so testing for the US market is scoped and quoted per order.

For the EU, we supply a GPSR technical file per order. The economic operator role under the General Product Safety Regulation belongs to a company in the EU, normally the importer.

Ask for the test report and the name of the sample that was tested, and check it against the model you are ordering. That applies to any supplier, not only this one.

Trade terms, payment and shipping

We quote EXW or FOB. The port of loading is arranged according to the destination country. Payment is by T/T (bank transfer) or by letter of credit (L/C), and the deposit and balance schedule is agreed with the quotation. Delivery to an Amazon warehouse can be discussed on request once the destination and labelling requirements are fixed.

Prices are not published because they depend on the model, the fabric, the branding, the packaging and the quantity. A quotation states the unit price, sampling and lead time together.

What to send for an accurate quote

  • The destination country and the standard the product has to meet
  • Model codes from the catalogue, or drawings and reference photos for an ODM project
  • Quantity per model, and per colour or print for accessories
  • The branding and packaging you need
  • Your preferred trade term, EXW or FOB

Pricing, sampling and lead time come back within one working day. Send the brief through the Request a quote button on any page, or on WhatsApp at +86 136 3272 2080.

The figures in this note are the ones we quote against as of October 2026. The quotation and the contract for your order are what apply.
